Abstract:

This program supports projects that further the critical and on-going post-fire erosion control and restoration efforts of the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that are not covered under other programs. An agreement with Institute for Applied Ecology will further efforts to conduct post-fire rehabilitation throughout Arizona and New Mexico by engaging one implementation crew, getting seed to start larger scale production fields, and installing/maintaining 8 seed production fields with farmers. All this seed will be used for erosion control on burned areas. The activities of this project directly support post-fire rehabilitation. Beneficiaries include profit organizations, public non-profit institutions/organizations, private non-profit institutions/organizations, non-federal government entities, industry and public decision makers, farmers, ranchers, and the general recreating public.
