SDRG Director Margaret Kuklinski Invited to Lecture at National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health: May 25, 2023: 9:00 to 10:15 p.m. PDT
SDRG is pleased to announce that Director Margaret Kuklinski, PhD, has been invited to present a lecture on May 25, 2023, at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (an arm of the National Institutes of Health). The lecture is titled “Unleashing the Power of Prevention to Enhance Well-being Across the Lifespan.” It will focus on her research in promoting positive developmental outcomes and preventing drug use and antisocial behavior through community-based and family-focused intervention. Kuklinski will trace the evolution of prevention science and share the latest findings from longitudinal intervention studies based on SDRG’s Social Development Strategy. Her talk is a response to the burning question of how to promote well-being in young people and prevent problems before they begin. Dr. Kuklinski will also discuss ways of increasing equity while expanding the reach and impact of effective health promotion and prevention approaches. Her talk draws on SDRG’s over 40 years of designing, testing, and disseminating effective prevention interventions. Some of these interventions have produced outcomes that have persisted across several decades and generations.
Kuklinski’s research focuses on demonstrating the long-term impact of effective, science-based prevention interventions; partnering with service systems to implement and scale them; and building policy support for preventive interventions by demonstrating their benefits and costs. She holds a PhD and MA in clinical and community psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an AB magna cum laude from Harvard University.
