Ivory Coast
Although the Ivory Coast is still part of the Kimberly Process, in 2005 the Ivory Coast suspended all official exports of rough diamonds. They did this because they wanted to help assure social stability. Later that year the UN Security Council passed a resolution banning the export of rough diamonds.
