Brian Kim

Brian was born and raised in Washington state for almost all of his life, and decided to enlist in the US Army in 2022 as a Corrections/Detention Specialist at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA while he was a freshman at UW.

His experience in corrections and detention operations has led him to wanting to help people in a more active and effective way by joining the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW). Most recently, he has served for approximately a year as his designated military occupational speciality in a country overseas for personal and career growth. There he was able to better hone his interpersonal communication skills, and become more resilient towards hardships and adversity. 

Following his brief time overseas, he declined to continue going overseas and continued his education at UW to become a law enforcement officer in the future. During his off-time, Brian enjoys playing video games with his friends and working out at the gym.
