Spencer Sartain

Spencer had served as a Casket Bearer in Arlington National Cemetery for the US Navy Ceremonial Guard from 2014-2017, then continued to serve as a Hospital Corpsman until 2021.

Originally out of the Nashville area, he and his partner have settled in Seattle for the iconic scenery and the warm, sunny climate that the PNW has to offer.

He is attending UW to attempt to earn a dual degree in Environmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management as well as Sustainable Bioresource Science Engineering. He hopes to one day address environmental concerns within the agricultural industry with phytoremediation and by helping to develop bioplastic alternatives with agricultural byproducts.

He enjoys long walks in the woods with his geriatric French bulldog and reminiscing on his cozy, late nights in a chic, Waffle House diner back east
