The Enumclaw STEM Expo welcomed kids and adults of all ages from the community and nearby school districts for an afternoon of science. ACES demonstrated polymerization with a silly putty booth where you could make slime from simple materials: borax, glue and water!

High School Visits

ACES representatives made visits to Cleveland High School and Garfield High School to teach students more about chemical engineering and common research areas in the field, such as photovoltaics, nanomaterials, biofuels, catalysis and cheminformatics. There were also “Thinking Physics” problems and demonstrations for the students to get involved.

STEM Nights

STEM Nights at Glacier Middle School and Medina Elementary provided interactive opportunities to learn more about science and engineering. ACES was there with their silly putty booth, providing a fun way to learn about polymerization by making your own slime.
