The Seattle Department of Transportation is seeking a college undergraduate or graduate student to undertake social media communications in support of SDOT. Execute department’s social media strategy for Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and other emerging applications. Support multi-faceted social media outreach on high profile transportation issues. Work with internal staff and external consultants. Provide as-needed support to communications team (e.g. community outreach).

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Open all students, undergraduate and graduate students, who are enrolled in an accredited educational program preferably studying Communications or Public Relations.
Undergraduate students will need to maintain a 2.0 GPA or above throughout the internship. Graduate students will need to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above throughout the internship.
Experience:
- Knowledge of social media best practices and technologies.
- Two years experience with social media tools.
- Skilled and comfortable writing to a varied audience.
- Sound judgment.
Salary: undergraduates will be paid $16.12//hour; graduates will be paid $19.76/hour.
