Rich Cherpeck received his B.A. from Rice University completing three years of undergraduate research with Prof. Robert V. Stevens. He then completed his Ph.D. studies at Caltech studying under Professor David A. Evans.
He joined the Ortho Division of the Chevron Chemical Company in 1980 before transferring to Chevron Oronite Company in 1990 where he is a Consulting Scientist working on fuel and lubricating oil additives. His commercial products include the fuel additive Techron®.
He is an inventor on more than 80 US patents.
