Acidic zeolites have a rich chemistry of olefin transformations, including C-C bond forming reactions. The goals of this project are to design new tandem catalytic systems for high yield intermolecular alkane-arene or alkane-alkane coupling by combining acidic zeolites with the alkane dehydrogenation catalysts previously used by CENTC for many transformations. We are investigating supporting (pincer)Ir complexes in isolated pores of zeolites, and also developing flow-through reactor systems employing solid-supported (pincer)Ir.
