Researchers ID 111 additional loci tied to type 2 diabetes

Researchers have identified 111 new chromosome locations related to the development of type 2 diabetes, according to a study in The American Journal of Human Genetics. UK researchers noted that 93 of the 111 loci are found in African American and European populations, while 18 loci were specific to Europeans.
