Study: Improved outcomes seen with insulin pump therapy use in adolescents

Adolescent type 2 diabetes patients who used an insulin pump therapy for three months reduced their A1C levels by 1.3% and their average blood glucose from 205±91 mg/dL to 161±70 mg/dL, according to a study presented at ENDO 2017: the 99th Annual Meeting & Expo. Researchers evaluated five female patients with poor glycemic control and found that the two who continued using insulin pumps had a 30% drop in insulin requirements and improved quality of life parameters.
