Welcome to the Memory Hub
Welcome to the Memory Hub: A Place for Dementia-Friendly Community, Collaboration and Impact! Bringing together people, programs and partners, the Memory Hub operates as a vibrant dementia-specific community center, collaborative workspace and training center. Spearheaded by the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center (MBWC), and located on the campus of founding partner the Frye Art Museum, the Memory Hub welcomes visitors year-round to explore what it means to live well with dementia.
Serving Up Smiles at Bridges Bistro
This month, we were excited to co-host the second run of Bridges Bistro - a unique dining experience in which the servers are individuals living with memory loss or dementia. This pop-up event, based on the Restaurant of Mistaken Orders in Japan, is to our knowledge the first of its kind in the U.S.
What are dementia-friendly communities?
Everyone can play a part in developing dementia-friendly communities or spreading awareness. Visit our page for inspiration, guidance, and practical tools at a local and national level.
Team Spotlight: Petra Jouflas (Frye Art Museum)
The Frye has welcomed Petra Jouflas, the new Creative Aging Programs Coordinator at the Frye! She will serve as the liaison between the Frye's Creative Aging programs and the Memory Hub.
Dispatches from ‘Dancing Together’ - November
In the Dancing Together project, Dr. Julia Becke is holding weekly dance-making sessions at the Memory Hub. In the community, Dr. Becke will also work with residents in The Terraces at Skyline. This project will culminate in a final performance on December 11, in which participants will act as co-creators of the dance movements.
Memory Hub Team Spotlight: Steve Wilson, Alzheimer’s Association®
Steve Wilson is a Care Consultant for the Alzheimer’s Association. At the Memory Hub, he helps people with memory loss and care partners get connected to helpful resources for via free in-person, phone, or virtual consults. Steve has worked as a music therapist in long term care homes in many different locations.

From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 25, stop by any site on the map to enjoy an outdoor brain-healthy activity such as stretching, puzzles, music and more. Healthy snacks included. A free event for all ages.
