Commuter & Transfer Commons Associate

First Year Programs is now hiring for Commuter & Transfer Commons Associates (CTAs) to work during the 2016-2017 school year!

The CTAs are responsible for ensuring that the Commons provides a welcoming and resource-rich environment for a diverse population of commuter and transfer students at the University of Washington. The Commuter & Transfer Commons (CTC) is a space for students to connect with each other and build community, while serving as a study and meeting space while commuter students are on campus.

Specific positions available are as follows:

  • CTA for Programming (2)
  • CTA for Social Media (1)
  • CTA for Journalism/Publication (1)
  • CTA General (2-4)

Through collaboration with each other and with campus partners, each CTA will contribute to the operational functions of the space, while establishing and maintaining a community within the CTC.

Transfer Student Ambassador/Dawg Daze Leader

Dawg Daze Leaders develop programming and logistical support for all Dawg Daze Welcome Week events. By engaging and interacting with student participants, Dawg Daze Leaders ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved.

This year, Transfer Student Dawg Daze Leaders, or Transfer Student Ambassadors, will staff the Transfer-specific Dawg Daze events, including Transfer Husky Kick-Off. If you are interested in welcoming new students to the University of Washington, especially incoming Transfer students, apply to be a Transfer Student Ambassador/Dawg Daze Leader!

First-Year Profiles

We are looking to highlight first-year transfer student’s stories on our new transfer website.  If you are interested in having your story featured online, please email First Year Programs (fyp@uw.edu) with your name and contact information! When emailing – please use the subject line “Transfer Student Profile”. We are hoping to feature first-year transfer students as a resource for incoming transfer student. We will follow up with students who email us with a quick email to be featured on our website.
