Welcome to the website of Prof. Junlan Wang's group at the University of Washington. Our research is concerned with the mechanics and physics of materials at small length and time scales. Particularly, we are interested in developing novel experimental techniques complemented by numeric modeling and theoretical analysis to study the mechanical behavior of complex material systems (including thin films and multilayer structures, nanoporous materials, biological cells and bio and bio-inspired materials, and novel MEMS devices) with impacts in semiconductor industry, biomedical devices, and aerospace and defense applications.
