Welcome to PacTrans!
The Pacific Northwest Transportation Consortium (PacTrans) is the Regional University Transportation Center (UTC) for Federal Region 10. PacTrans focuses on developing human-centered and transformative multimodal mobility solutions for an equitable Pacific Northwest. Major goals and objectives of PacTrans include serving as Region 10’s research engine, applied technology showcase, workforce development base, education leader, information center, and collaboration platform. PacTrans is a consortium of transportation professionals and educators from six colleges and universities located around the Pacific Northwest: Northwest Indian College (NWIC), Portland State University (PSU), the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA), University of Idaho (UI), University of Washington (UW), and Washington State University (WSU). In previous iterations of PacTrans, our consortium also included: Oregon State University, Gonzaga University, and Boise State University.
Our website is structured to give you an easy and enjoyable experience. Components are as follows:
About Us – Here we introduce who we are and where we come from. We introduce our staff, our board, and our various advisory boards who help us continue to provide the best transportation research, technology transfer, education, and workforce development in the country.
Research – Research is at the very core of PacTrans. This tab includes resources for our investigators as well as an archive of all previous and ongoing, PacTrans funded, research projects.
Education and Workforce Development – One of PacTrans’ highest priorities is equipping students and practitioners with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the transportation workforce of the future. This tab explores the breadth of ways PacTrans is involved in this vital process.
Partnerships and Technology Transfer – PacTrans strives to facilitate the movement of meaningful research outputs into practice. This is achieved through a strong network of partnerships as well as resources to assist investigators with this process.
Publications – PacTrans is a regional transportation center for federal region 10, accountable to the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Technology and Research (OST-R). In that vein, we are accountable for producing several standard reports. PacTrans also produces its own publications to showcase our work. All of these publications are better defined and exist in this tab.
News & Events – This page will keep you up to date on everything going on at PacTrans; recent past, present, and the future.
