    City of Redmond Summer Internship Opportunity

    Redmond’s Traffic Operations Safety and Engineering division is looking to hiring some interns to help gather data and other duties this summer.  They are hoping for a Civil Engineering student.  The candidate does not need to be focusing on Transportation but it doesn’t hurt.

    The City  is recruiting to hire seasonal help to support the Traffic Operations Safety and Engineering Division. Interns work with engineering staff members to:

    • Conduct field survey vehicle sight lines
    • Collect data on curb ramps for Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliance streetlight, signal, camera and electrical service transformer information and enter into GIS database along with collision and traffic data
    • Assist field technicians in traffic signal preventative maintenance and CCTV
    • Tasks include:
      • Field work
      • Assisting with installation of cabling and equipment
      • Troubleshoot and repair traffic control devices
      • Traffic flagging
      • General shop maintenance
      • Updating and maintaining files
      • Processing data and other duties as assigned
