Conference overview
The Annual PacTrans Region 10 Student Transportation Conference is a meeting of transportation students from universities across the Pacific Northwest. Unlike the preceding day’s conference open to academics and industry personnel in addition to students, this conference is planned entirely for students, by students. The goal is to provide a conference more geared towards a student’s needs, particularly those who plan to enter engineering practice following graduation. This year’s conference will feature speakers from academia and industry, a research poster competition with cash prizes, and a panel/discussion session with recently-graduated transportation engineers. Breakfast and lunch will also be served.
Tentative schedule of events:
9:00AM-9:30AM: Check-in and breakfast
9:30AM-10:15AM: Speaker #1 (Dr. Michael Kyte – University of Idaho) w/ Q&A
10:15AM-11:00AM: Recent graduate/practitioner panel session (Talk with students who recently graduated with degrees in transportation engineering to hear about their transition into the work world)
11:15AM-12:00PM: Speaker #2 (Bruce Haldors – President of Transpo Group) w/ Q&A
12:00PM-12:30PM: Student research poster session (with cash prizes)
12:30PM-1:30PM: Lunch
1:30PM: Announcement of winners of poster contest and wrap-up
