Urban Freight Lab calls for Tech Day proposals

The Urban Freight Lab is hosting their third annual Tech Day: Transforming the Final 50 Feet of Delivery, a pitch competition for innovators improving the final leg of the urban goods delivery system – the Final 50 Feet, which begins at the curb, in an alley, or a private loading bay, and ends with the customer.

They are looking for solutions for the following key problems:

    1. Reducing parking-seeking behavior in dense urban areas
    2. Improving commercial vehicle parking space productivity
    3. Reducing the number of failed first deliveries, and
    4. Reducing dwell time for delivery vehicles.

Finalists will pitch solutions at Tech Day to their members (retailers, freight carriers, UW researchers, and the City of Seattle DOT) and a panel of venture capitalists. Contestants receive exposure to potential customers and investors and may be chosen for a pilot project.
