Project Title: Pollinator Studies, Willamette Valley Oregon
Responses to this Request for Statements of Interest (SOI) will be used to identify potential investigators to oversee pollinator studies to be funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District, Willamette Valley Project (WVP) covering 13 Operating Project locations in Northwest Oregon. Approximately $57,000 is expected to be available to support this project for one (1) year. Additional funding may be available for follow on work for up to four (4) years at $63,000 per year for a total of $315,000 over five (5) years.

Brief Description of Anticipated Work:
Studies will include determination of existing Corps pollinator collections to species; additional inventory at Fern Ridge and other lakes; construction and analysis of pollinator networks; pollen identification and tracking on the landscape; and comparisons of pollinator relations in remnant and restored rare plant sites. There is potential to support experiments using nursery-cultivated native plants or targeted habitat manipulation. Specimens would be accessioned into regional collections and publicly available databases as appropriate, with a reference collection provided to Corps biologists.
