Leadership positions at Grey Matters Journal

Grey Matters Journal is recruiting for leadership positions for the 2019-2020 school year! Grey Matters is UW’s undergraduate neuroscience journal committed to making neuroscience accessible to the public. They are looking for motivated, passionate students who would like to help them accomplish our mission of science education and outreach.

Listed below are the positions available for 2019-2020. Please submit all necessary materials to the application form on their website:

Editing Coordinator–Oversees their editing team, reviews all editor applications, and creates groups of editors and authors for each production cycle. If interested, please submit a cover letter, resume, editing sample, and a technical and non-technical writing sample.

Production Manager–Edits and proofreads articles during the quarter and completes other managerial tasks. If interested, please submit a cover letter, resume, editing sample, and a technical and non-technical writing sample.

Design Director–Manages all journal design and layout. The Design Director also recruits other designers, oversees their work, and puts together the final journal layout. Must have serious experience with Adobe InDesign. If interested, please submit a cover letter, resume, and a portfolio (either online or PDF).

Website Manager–Responsible for maintaining and updating the Grey Matters’ website during the quarter. If interested, please submit a cover letter and resume.

Marketing Manager–Oversees the Grey Matters store, helps manage the Grey Matters budget, and helps pursue fundraising in line with the Grey Matters mission. If interested, please submit a cover letter and resume. 

Events Coordinator–Oversees all events and membership actvities for Grey Matters, organizes their annual event (An Evening with Neuroscience), and generates ideas for how to create neuroscience community. If interested, please submit a cover letter and resume.
