Unit 6
(optional - TTQ to TQI coming Summer 2006)

Unit 1: Project-Based Learning - OPTIONAL

This unit is optional, but if you don't feel you have an excellent understanding of project-based learning (its definition and coaching strategies), it would be a good idea to complete this short unit.

If you decide to skip this unit, it is important to print out Unit 1 Notes, which lists the significant elements of project-based learning, the foundation of TRIO ThinkQuest.

TRIO ThinkQuest is a project-based learning activity. Once you have completed Unit 1 (or reviewed Unit 1 Notes), you will be directed to Unit 2 where the TTQ Rubric will be discussed in detail.

There are two lessons within Unit 1 which address Objectives 1 & 2.

Lesson/Objective 1:
Given a checklist with characteristics of project-based learning, trainees will define project-based learning with one hundred percent accuracy.

Lesson/Objective 2 :
Given the instructional program on the coaching process for project-based learning, trainees will contrast coaching to teaching with one hundred percent accuracy.
