UW Student Film Contest

Disclaimer

  1. Films must be the original work of the film making teams. If a film is based upon another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, applicant(s) must secure any necessary rights to make such adaptations. Neither the Contest Organizers nor its jurists investigates or attests to the authenticity of an team’s statement of authorship or rights secured.
  2. By entering the competition, the team automatically verifies that all necessary rights have secured beforehand.
  3. By entering the competition, the team automatically allows the organizers and UW to screen and post the film as it pleases on its media publications or use it to advance the University’s mission and vision.
  4. Teams are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights.
  5. The contest organizers and UW shall not be held responsible for any inaccurate or inappropriate content in the films
  6. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify a team to uphold the mission and vision of the Film Contest
  7. For prize money, additional UW rules of eligibility may apply.
