2. Situation: Eleven year old Gabriel's teacher informs you that he is not completing assignments.

3. Situation: Four year old Victor calls you unpleasant names when you tell him "No more cookies until after dinner."

This penalty is not related to the property damage. It may allow the adult to blow off steam but does not promote problem-solving. It is punishment.
