Genomics and Isolation Core
Mission
The Genomics and Isolation Core’s mission is to advance knowledge of sequence diversity among circulating T. pallidum strains and serve as a specimen resource for the syphilis research field by (1) providing accurate whole genome sequencing of T. pallidum strains from patient samples from a wide range of geographical regions; (2) isolating new T. pallidum strains from patient specimens; (3) providing the Clinical and Statistical Core with assembled, aligned, and annotated sequences for further analyses; and (4) maintaining centralized patient specimen banks.
