Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said there is a possibility the US could see a turning point “within a few weeks" regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but he cautioned that achieving herd immunity is a “moving target." The US has been averaging roughly 3 million vaccinations daily, with the number of administered COVID-19 vaccine doses topping 230.8 million as of Monday, with more than 95.9 million people now fully vaccinated.
