A study in the journal Metabolism [r.smartbrief.com] found that adult men with obesity and low testosterone concentrations who took either metformin or testosterone, or both, for a year experienced reductions in insulin resistance, compared with those who took a placebo. Taking either metformin or testosterone, or both, resulted in no significant changes in body composition, erectile function, metabolic variables and health-related quality of life.
