Rapid A1C drop not tied to worsening diabetic retinopathy

A study in Diabetes Care found that a rapid decline in A1C was not linked with the prrogression of mild or moderate nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy. The findings remained true even after accounting for confounding variables like baseline A1C levels, diabetes duration, antidiabetic drug use and presence of hypertension.
