Safety, effectiveness of A1C testing kits for home-use

A study in the journal Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics found that a measurement of A1C with capillary blood collection kits for home-use yielded similar accuracy as a measurement with venous blood draw. The researchers say the findings could be beneficial for those who require home A1C testing kits, especially for children for whom a venous blood draw can be painful and challenging.
