Over 40% of the most-viewed TikTok videos on cholesterol are inaccurate, and more than a third are potentially harmful, according to a study presented at the American Society for Preventive Cardiology Congress on CVD Prevention. Researchers analyzed 211 videos tagged #cholesterol or #highcholesterol and found that physician-created content was generally accurate but had lower engagement than videos from laypersons or other types of health care professionals.
