Aquaponics

Applicability

-Issue of species use. Tilapia is most common because of resiliency (user’s learning curve, habitat-climatic concerns), but many states and countries have laws regarding non-native species. Therefore depending on the scale of the application (residential or commercial), access to a species that could thrive in this type of closed loop environment could become problematic

-CLIMATE! If temperature fluctuations require too much conditioning or mechanical control of the aquatic environment, then the monetary cost could decrease feasibility.

-Great for regions lacking arable land. The Middle East and Egypt have been employing aquaponics for hundreds of years.
