Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprints Around the Globe

MadisonGinger

It is reasonable that there are major differences among the carbon footprints across the globe because different people live different lifestyles. For example, poorer countries may not use as much transporation as we do in the United States. Additonally, there are probably different diets that people have based on what food is available to them. This is why in the beginning of the Carbon Footprint Calculator, they asked for your city and state. They can compare your carbon footprint to the average carbon footprint in your area
