My Carbon Footprint (North Carolina, USA)
My name is Chris, I am 17 years old and I am from North Carolina in the United States. My carbon footprint average was 24,138 which was above average for my region and the average of my region was about 15,918. The majority of my carbon footprint came from transportation. I don’t understand why my transportation footprint was so high because I carpool to and from school because I don’t own a car myself. I expected my results to be around the average of my regions because I don’t do anything out of the ordinary that would cause my carbon footprint to be an outrageous amount. What surprised me is the my transportation footprint because I don’t own a car and the car I use is very fuel efficient. What I learned from this experience is that I need to start being more environmentally cautious with my everyday tasks and try the best I can to try and consume less resources and emit a smaller carbon footprint. What I can do to do this is save as much water as I can by not wasting it, drive less, and don’t waste energy in your home. These are just a couple things anyone can do to decrease their carbon footprint.
