Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint is 21,709 kg. I believe that to improve my carbon footprint I should charge my mobile phone less and spend less time in the shower.

My carbon footprint is around 18,000 kg. Most of it is from transportation because I play sports. I believe everyone can help reduce their carbon footprint by eating out less and try getting electric cars as their first car or even low gas-powered cars to reduce the amount of carbon released into the air.

My carbon footprint is 13,582. To reduce this I think that I should try to travel less on planes and in more fuel efficient vehicles. I also think that i should take shorter showers.
