less use of paper and plastic

An idea to help reduce our communities carbon footprint is by cutting down on paper use and waste and to start using electronics to complete our assignments. Another idea to reduce our carbon footprints is to use fewer plastic products by using reusable bags instead of plastic bags and to use metal water bottles instead of unreusable plastic water bottles.

I agree, but how can we better limit the materials that are used to create plastic bags and unreusable plastic water bottles.

That's a good point but I think the bigger issue is not the plastic itself but how we recycle it. Speaking about paper is a completely different thing: even if the paper waste can be a big problem, cutting down trees for paper doesn't affect too much the enviroment because almost all of the trees cut down are replaced by the same paper (and wood) companies. It is estimated that a number about 4 million treess are cut down and then replaced by paper and wood companies every day.
Of course recycling paper and managing to treat the waste in a way that doesn't damage the environment is a good thing and it will always be helpful!

I agree w all ur points, another suggestion might be that we could use more metal in things like straws, utensils, dishes, and more. That way they would be reusable and wouldn’t harm our planet as much.

Less paper and plastic, more electric- A student proposed in schools we use less paper assignments and less plastic tools and to instead keep the majority of assignments online. Although this will cut significantly down on paper usage which is a cause of high carbon footprints, cellular data produces carbon. Meaning there are pros and cons to both ways of assignments. I do not think this is a major problem we need to solve in the moment.

I agree, if we can find something to replace plastic that is better for the environment, that will change things for the better. And, we must recycle all the plastic we use.
