A lot of people on the Wants and Needs forum talk about the pros and cons of technology, and our society's increasing dependence on digital devices.
Most young people today do not know a world without mobile phones. My question is:
Should schools have -as part of classes- discussions about responsible use of technology? Does your school do that? What should such discussions entail?
In the era of COVID we have seen our phones become tools for the rapid spreading of misinformation. Here in the USA the same thing happened with lies about the recent presidential election (2020).
Do you think its time this became an explicit part of education to dicsuss these issues?
Yes, I think we should have a conversation regarding the responsible use of technology. I think there should also be a discussion regarding the use of materials and the lack of recycling of those materials.
