Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

Alicia08

Hi!My carbon footprint is 3,904kg of CO2 per year. The category in which I have the most total is in food (2,398kg) which could decrease, by buying more local products to avoid long transportation of food. There is another category where I also have a high total, that is home(683kg). I could reduce this by turning off the lights when I am not in that room or when they are not necessary. I could also change the habit of putting fewer dryers for clothes, instead of using the clothesline.
