Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My footprint

_Matteo_B

My total footprint is 5,785 kgs, it's higher than Italy.
For trasportation, my total is 175 kgs, it is lower than my region because I usually use my bike instead of my car.
For home my total is 2,350 kgs, it's higher than my region because I use the wood for the heating; the solution may be to reduce wood stoves to reduce CO2.

Bryce.C

My carbon footprint is 9,498 kgs and it is significantly lower than the average in the US most of it is because I use oil heating. so if I were going to reduce my footprint, I would probably use electric heating.
