EV Battery sharing
A few years ago I heard of an idea to get around the time it takes to charge an EV battery. Every EV would have a battery that is detachable (since most people only drive a few 10s of miles a day or less, it doesn't have to be the whole battery pack) so that you could just drive up to a battery switching station and have the dead battery come out the bottom or something and be replaced with a charged one. Also the electric company would own the removable batteries to use for energy storage in high-demand times.
