Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Plant Fruit Trees

xxx_dabbdaddy_xxx

Having fruit trees is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint for three reasons.
1. Having more trees increases the oxygen output, which can help offset the carbon output.
2. You don't need to waste gas to drive to the grocery store and purchase fruit.
3. Because most orchards have to ship their products to stores, it uses up gasoline in trucks, boats and planes.
Remember to plant fruit trees for each different season so no matter the year, you will have a fruit.

This chart can help show what fruits are in season. [Fruit](//muut.com/u/footprint/s1/:footprint:vAO9:fruit.jpg.jpg)

Fruit trees are clutch, not only are they good for the environment, but they also provide a delicious snack.

Fruit trees do provide a great source of food but they also do other things. During photo synthesis they change carbon dioxide into oxygen. This can lower the amount of carbon in the air. Creating a better environment.

Yes all trees are great for the environment.

I agree that trees in general will help the environment. However, I do think that it will not save you a trip to the grocery store. Fruit trees will not be growing fruit all year long. Depending on how many trees you grow, there may only be enough for a couple meals and/or snacks. This theory would only help if you were to plant a lot fruit trees, which unless you have the space for on your property would be an inconvenience.
