Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Use Electric power to power our automobiles

bryant_johnson19

Toyota, Tesla Nissan etc. These are only a few places that carry affordable electric vehicles to you and me. These are better alternatives because they are extremely good for the environment. Our cars today burn fossil fuels witch are releasing co2 into our atmosphere. These green house gases warm up this is one of the causes of global warming. But if we cut down on using fossil fuels it can lead to a healthier environment for all.

True. Electric cars have a lower lifetime carbon footprint than non-electric cars. According to greencarreports.com, a Nissan Leaf had 51% lower emission in a 179,000 mile span than a regular gasoline car. If we can make a switch to electric cars, we can make a difference to our carbon footprint.

I completely agree. I carpool in a Tesla to school almost every day. This helps reduce how much carbon we use and helps our community.

I agree with that electrical cars are better, but unfortunately, today electric cars are more expensive than gas powered cars right now, so I think that's something companies need to work on first in development
