Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How can I reduce my carbon footprint?

Darius1705

In my opinion,I can reduce my carbon footprint using public transport instead of using the family car. If we all will use our personal car, the air and the soil will be affected by the chemical that result.

Darius I completely agree with you. We can also try reducing our food enviornment.Ok, so when you shop at a typical big box store your items may have traveled thousands of miles before arriving on that shelf that they are on. It takes alot of fossil fuels to make that. By reducing these you are also reducing your carbon footprint as well. Another way to reduce the carbon footprint is consume local and seasonal products. You can also try to cycle or use public transport. The key to trying to reduce the carbon footprint is to not use as much gas and heat and other things that has to do with carbon because it could really affect your enviornment
