Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How can I reduce my carbon footprint?
I can reduce my carbon footprint by carpooling with someone more often instead of taking public transportation. (like BART or AC Transit) I already carpool a lot with friends as it can be easier. When I turn 16 I won't have to carpool as often as I will have my license. When I can drive myself that will reduce my carbon footprint a lot. I could also stop eating meat, but that would be hard for me to do. My family already has solar panels but we could get electric cars like we used to have. That would reduce it by a lot.
Another way to reduce your carbon footprint would be to reduce the amount of food that's wasted because producing and transporting food takes a lot of energy, which will all go to waste if you don't eat the food you buy.
isn't public transport just a big carpool?
