Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Problems with fixing Global Warming

zackfig

This is clearly a huge problem for the world today, NASA has stated that temperatures have risen .7 degrees in the last century, ten times faster than the standard rate, and we are all trying to do what we can to help, but the problem is that we can only help ourselves and our country. While the US has put in many policies to help climate change, we can't keep other countries accountable for their emissions, China puts out the largest emissions per year, but we can't do anything do stop them, even though the UN had a climate change meeting in Paris and China agreed to lower the carbon emissions, they then proceeded to lie about their carbon emissions. So I think that as a country and a world we need a system where we can hold countries accountable for their role in Global Warming
