Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Your Carbon Footprint

RagaBOD

In class we got to use the carbon footprint calculator to find out how much our daily lives can impact climate change. I was not surprised when I looked to see that the largest category was transportation. Since my family and I love to travel and go to lots of places. So I plan on trying to reduce this section by not traveling as often by car. Like instead carpooling or using public transportation systems. Since like in the article “More stuff = more climate change”? cutting down on trips like plane trips or using environmentally friendly transportation like bikes can help to reduce our carbon footprint. Which is what I plan on doing from now on. Is to try to travel or use transportation that is more environmentally friendly like carpooling, biking, or public transportation systems to reduce my personal carbon footprint.
