Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

tydaBOD

I could reduce my carbon footprint by not wasting home appliances and turning the water off when I’m not using it. I could also stop eating red meat because it produces a lot more carbon. I might also be able to reduce it by walking more and carpooling with friends on the way to school. I could walk or bike to the places that are closer to me and carpool with friends to go to sports practices and school. We can also reduce the amount of energy we use, by saving money and taking care of personal things. We don’t need to replace things as often as we do if we don’t waste them all the time. We can use reusable shopping bags and water bottles so that we don’t have a one time use thing that we just throw away.
