Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Electric car batteries
This past year I have heard many positive and negative things about electric car batteries. First the positives, they are "eco-friendly" in a limited amount of ways, they don't use gas and don't put out CO2 emissions. BUT..... in the long run once the batteries have succeed their full use the disposal of them is terrible for the environment. The materials used to make the batteries takes years to dispose of and will sit around affecting the environment in the long term. This being said, the electric cars we have today will affect our world in the end.
I kind of disagree but not fully. I see what you are saying about how the batteries will take a long time to dispose of but, I would rather take that than a buch of co2 emissions coming out of cars everyday. If there were no electric cars the o zone in our atmosphere would break apart a lot faster. So I agree with you that the batteries are harmful, but I think that they are still better than the cars that use fossil fuels and our o zone won't break up as much as it is now. Hopefully one day they were will be a car that doesn't harm the Earth in any way.
Another problem with electric cars is that there factories create more toxic waste than other car factories. Also, their batteries are bigger and thus are harder to take apart for recycling. Also, depending on what is creating the electricity to power them, using electricity can potentially be worse for the environment than standard fossil cars. Also, the materials necessary to build their engines create a lot of toxicity in the air, creating a heightened chance for acid rain and smog.
