Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Alexis' Carbon Footprint (NC, USA)
My name is Alexis, I am 17 years old and from Mooresville, North Carolina. My carbon footprint total was 49,374 kgs which is above average for my region at 15,918 kgs. The larger section of my carbon footprint came from my transportation score. I was not too surprised with my high score because I do a lot of traveling and I do a lot of running around town. I learned that even the little choices we make can greatly increase our carbon footprint. To decrease my carbon footprint I can starting doing the little things like shortening my showers, not using as much electricity, and definitely driving less. I learned that we need to be more environmentally friendly and pay attention to the little things we do that greatly impact the damage to our environment.
