How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Is it a necessity to have a smartphone? It is convenient, but cutting down on smartphones would greatly improve the amount of carbon in the air, and might be good for any community due to an improvement in work ethic and such.
