Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reducing Footprints around the world.

Most students' Carbon Footprints are relatively high, I believe we can improve these scores with just a little effort put into it. It could be something really simple, such as just learning how to ride a bike to school. If you don't have a bike then maybe you can take the bus, and you can even walk home from school if you live nearby. If you're gonna drive somewhere close by, then just cut out a bit of time to walk over. Simple things like this can really make a positive change in the environment.
