i think the newest technologies are all wants, not needs.  i think its fine to get a new phone or computer if your old one breaks, but other than that you don't need to upgrade every time apple or samsung releases a new model. of course, consumerism definately ties into this, and the whole mentality to "buy buy buy", but that kind of E-waste is definately not sustainable for the enviroment.
personally, i only buy new technology if something is broken beyond repair, and even then i pick the thing i think will last me the longest.

I totally agree. I got my first phone in grade 6, still have the same one today, and it works perfectly fine. Many friends of mine or people I know are constantly getting new phones or technology, even when not needed. Another thing that people need to think about is if new clothing is a need or want. Theres a lot of people that buy new clothes when not needed because they love fashion, and many homeless or poor people that would do anything to just get a new t-shirt or pair of pants. But also, you have to see both sides because there are so many people that really care about fashion and style, and see it as their hobby and one of their passions. I think that its not a bad things when people want new clothes because they really care about how they dress, but when you do grow out of clothes or if theres some you dont like anymore, consider donating them. Whenever I buy new clothes I always look in my closet or wardrobe and see if theres anything I could donate.
